Preventative Maintenance for Your Vinyl

Good preventative maintenance starts by limiting the amount of dirt and dust that come into contact with your vinyl flooring. Doormats will help trap dirt in advance, and removing shoes before walking across your new vinyl floor will also help.

Sweep, dry mop, and vacuum your vinyl flooring frequently. If your flooring ever needs a deeper clean, use a manufacturer-approved cleaning solution.

Dealing Spills & Stains

Even if you're extra careful, there will still be spills and accidents. Vinyl is pretty easy-care when it comes to dealing with messes. In most cases, all you need to do is mop up any spills or use a cloth.

After wiping up a spill, if your floors are sticky, you can follow up with a manufacturer-approved floor cleaner.

If you encounter more difficult messes such as nail polish, oil, wax, or market, check with your manufacturer's guidelines for approved stain removal tips.
